It’s that time of year again, the 4th of July has rolled around and we have survived.
Each year our family departs the blazing sun and heads to the beach. We relax in the comfort of my families home and enjoy a weekend away. Bar-B-Que, backyard games, small town parades and kids playing on tree lined streets. It’s a picture out of a Norman Rockwell painting. It’s perfect for most families. And with Autism Boy you never quite know what our picture will look like. Well, this year was amazing. We have finally gotten to the point where he knows what is going to happen and looks forward to it. He knows that Nana will cook great food, Papa will laugh with a hearty laugh, Mommy will chase him all day and play games of catch and horseshoes and there will be fireworks with a big and startling boom and then pretty sparkles in the sky of vibrant blues, reds, whites and greens. We finally have a fuss free holiday. I love that.
